Jess is in need of rebraiding and she's come up with a mysterious purple mark on her arm, not to mention that Sara's come up with a mysterious BRIGHT MAROON mark on her nose (I swear I take good care of my dolls, they must write on themselves) ... anyway, it's looking like we'll have a Dolly Spa Day sometime soon. (Kirsten, on the other hand, is clean, and is *very* amused that her sisters have to be bathed while she doesn't.)
Anyway, something occured to me: would Jess' (or Kirsten's or Molly's or Kaya's or ANYONE'S) hair be easier/better to braid when wet? Or am I risking serious damage somehow to the hair if I mist it, brush it, braid it, and THEN let it dry?

I found it easier to braid Kirsten's hair when it was wet/damp. I took it out a few days later and she had the most gorgeous waves!

Yeah, a lot of ladies here have said to mist the girls' hair before braiding or brushing. I should do that more often with Kirsten since her hair gets braided a lot. Just plain 'ol water won't hurt them a bit, as long as you don't get it in their eyes.

The only problem I can see is that if you braid wet hair, as mentioned earlier, when you unbraid, you'll have waves. On some dolls, that could be pretty--I personally would not want my Kirsten to have wavy hair when I unbraided, though. (Of course, my Kirsten's braids are kind of ratty, so I'm probably not an expert there. )
I don't know how difficult it would be to get the dolls' hair "unwaved" after you'd braided it wet. I'm sure there wouldn't be any permanent damage to doll or hair, but it might cause some difficulty when/if you tried to get the hair straight again.

It braids much better when misted. I think a bit of misting whenever you brush any of the dolls' hair keeps it from getting so dry.

Wet hair isn't bad for dolls. Like they said, just mist it first.

My doll's waves came out by themselves after a few days when I did that.

Ha ha, Kirsten's hair is already very wavy, and from the pictures I've seen of Jess, hers is already wavy too.
I was afraid it would mold or something funny, but from what you've said, I guess not. Thanks, everyone!

I like to mist Molly's hair before I braid it and even when I just give it a good brushing to smooth it out. Her hair looks much shinier too.

I can only braid MY hair when it's wet an it's a lot easier when hair (of dolls, humans, chimps WHATEVER) is wet because it isn't so poofy. it keeps the hair together more easily.
